Hey Mt. Juliet! 👋

Hope everyone's having a great week! In this edition, I had an opportunity to sit down with Julie from Sweet Armenia Bakery who was the big winner of our Best of MJ: Chocolate Chip Cookie Quest. She has an amazing story and it's a conversation you won't want to miss. 🍪

I also spent some time with Eric from Pelican Snoball’s to find out a little more about this sweet local business. With things heating up this summer, a stop here should be on your short list of things to do (especially if you have kids!) Make sure you check that article out below!

We've got a lot of exciting things happening around town this weekend and heading into next week. From The Love Island Pool Party at The Goat to the return of Movies in the Park at Charlie Daniels Park (a personal favorite 🎬), there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the summer with your family. And don't sleep on all the free kids' programs happening at the library — such a great resource this time of year!

There's a lot to love about summer in Mt. Juliet — and this week is no exception. We're glad you're here. Let's dive in! 🌞

Mt. Juliet PD is Taking Public Safety to New Heights! 🚁

The Mt. Juliet Police Department is officially launching its new Drones as a First Responder (DFR) Program, bringing another innovative public safety tool to our city.

The first drone base, located at Station 3, will serve the south side of Mt. Juliet, where call volume is highest. Staffed by certified drone pilots, the program allows drones to be deployed and arrive on scene within minutes, providing officers with valuable real-time information during emergencies and investigations. A second drone base is expected to be operational by September, expanding coverage across the city.

The new program reflects MJPD's continued investment in technology and public safety. Combined with the city's declining crime rate, it's another reminder of why Mt. Juliet remains one of Tennessee's safest communities.

A big thank you to the men and women of the Mt. Juliet Police Department for their ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe. 💙

📚 Summer Reading at the Mt. Juliet Library!

Looking for a fun and free way to keep the kids engaged this summer? The Mt. Juliet Library's Summer Reading Program is officially underway and running through June 30th! It's a wonderful opportunity for kids to keep their love of reading alive all summer long — and did we mention it's completely free? While you are there, also make sure to check out their activity calendar. They have so much going on this summer!

Meet the Team

Denise is a SoCal native who has called Middle Tennessee home for 25 years. A self-proclaimed foodie, she’s always on the hunt for the area's latest and greatest restaurants—though during football season, you’ll likely find her locked into a game.

Mike originally hails from New Jersey and has lived in Mt. Juliet for over 30 years. When he isn’t cheering on his favorite college and pro football teams, he loves getting out to catch some live local rock music.

Together, we started What’s Up Mt. Juliet because we believe there is so much to love about this great city. Our mission is simple: the more you know, the more you'll go!

Thanks for letting us be a small part of your week!
