Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s Up Mt. Juliet!
Hi Neighbors!
We want to start by wishing all of our awesome Mt. Juliet moms a very Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you enjoyed last week’s beautiful weather and had a chance to get out and take advantage of some of the great activities around town.
We had a blast browsing several community yard sales—shoutout to Jackson Hills, Stone Hollow, Park Glen, Tuscan Gardens, Cypress Glen, and Saddlewood—and loved stopping by Charlie Daniels Park for opening day of the Farmers Market (we’ve got a special feature on that below).
There's so much happening this week, whether you're looking for a midweek trivia break, a family-friendly craft, or a unique way to celebrate Mother's Day — we've got you covered! I'm especially excited about the Grand Opening of Haverty's Furniture this week! We'll have a table set up, so if you want to stop by and say hi, I would absolutely love to meet you! And psst... we have a secret giveaway just for Haverty's guests! 😉🎉
As always, if you’ve spotted something new around town or know of an event we should feature, just hit reply and let us know—we truly love hearing from you. Thanks for being part of our community, and have a great week!
See you around MJ,
Denise & Mike

Community Corner
The Mt. Juliet Board of Commissioners recently approved two faith-based resolutions during Monday night’s meeting.
One of the resolutions authorizes “In God We Trust” decals to be placed on all city-owned vehicles, including public safety vehicles. Both resolutions were sponsored by Mayor James Maness and passed by a 4-0 vote, with District 3 Commissioner Scott Hefner absent.
Supporters of the resolution noted that the national motto—officially adopted by the U.S. in 1956 and also appearing on American currency—is intended as a “passive, ceremonial, and patriotic expression,” not as an endorsement of any specific religious belief.
The second resolution passed that evening expresses support for a Tennessee House effort to designate July as an annual month of prayer and fasting across the state.

Trivia Time Answer!
Target was one of the first major anchor stores to open in Providence Marketplace in 2006. It was quickly joined during the same early phase by other big-name retailers like Kroger, Best Buy, JC Penney, and Belk as the shopping center began to take shape.
Meet the Team
Denise is a SoCal native who has called Middle Tennessee home for 25 years. A self-proclaimed foodie, she’s always on the hunt for the area's latest and greatest restaurants—though during football season, you’ll likely find her locked into a game.
Mike originally hails from New Jersey and has lived in Mt. Juliet for over 30 years. When he isn’t cheering on his favorite college and pro football teams, he loves getting out to catch some live local rock music.
Together, we started What’s Up Mt. Juliet because we believe there is so much to love about this great city. Our mission is simple: the more you know, the more you go!
Thanks for letting us be a small part of your week!
