🏡 A HUGE New Neighborhood Just Opened in Mt. Juliet

If you've driven along Benders Ferry Road lately, you've probably noticed something new taking shape.

Treymor, a new 317-acre community from PulteGroup's John Wieland Homes, recently celebrated its grand opening and is the largest JW Homes Community in Middle Tennessee. When complete, the neighborhood will bring 349 new homes to Mt. Juliet, with construction expected to begin in October.

But one of the more interesting things about Treymor isn't just the number of houses.

Of the community's 317 acres, about 166 acres are planned to remain open space. Plans call for walking trails, a dog park, community garden, playground, pickleball courts and a neighborhood amenity center with a pool and cabanas.

The homes will be on relatively large lots, some approaching an acre, and will range from about 2,465 to more than 4,000 square feet, with up to six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Current pricing starts around $640,000.

Three decorated model homes are already open for tours at 122 Treymor Drive, so you can actually see what's being planned rather than just watching the construction from the road.

With 349 homes planned and more than half of the property's acreage designated as open space, Treymor will be a pretty significant addition to this part of Mt. Juliet as the community takes shape over the next several years.

A Chocolate Bar With a Sourdough Twist

What happens when a Mt. Juliet bakery and a Lebanon chocolate maker team up? Something pretty delicious.

The collaboration between Emeraude Bakery and Durci Chocolate started when Hunter from Emeraude attended a tasting event at Durci. The two businesses decided to create a chocolate bar together — but first, they taste-tested 12 different cacao beans alongside Emeraude's sourdough to find the perfect combination.

The winning bar features dried sourdough crumbs and hints of raspberry.

And they're already planning another collaboration for December!

Want to try it? The chocolate bar is $12 and is available at both Emeraude Bakery in Mt. Juliet and Durci Chocolate in Lebanon.

🌮 Celebrate National Taco Day with These 6 Unexpected Mt. Juliet Tacos

National Taco Day is next Tuesday, October 6 — and it falls on Taco Tuesday.

That's not a coincidence.

For years, National Taco Day was celebrated on October 4, regardless of what day of the week it happened to be. But in 2024, Taco Bell teamed up with National Day Calendar and successfully petitioned to officially move the holiday to the first Tuesday of October every year, making sure National Taco Day and Taco Tuesday will always go hand in hand.

So, obviously, we need tacos.

But instead of sticking with the usual chicken, beef or cheese, we went looking for some of the more unexpected tacos you can find right here in Mt. Juliet.

🌮 THAI SAMURAI — OBA TACO

401 S. Mt Juliet Rd., Ste. 250, Mt. Juliet

This might be the most unexpected taco on our list.

Thai Samurai's Oba Taco starts with a fried Japanese mint leaf instead of a traditional tortilla and is topped with spicy tuna, spicy crab, spicy mayo, eel sauce, furikake and masago.

Japanese flavors. Seafood. A fried mint leaf. In taco form.

We're intrigued.

🌮 THE GOAT — BLACKENED SALMON TACOS

1127 Westwood Blvd, Mt. Juliet

If you're looking for something a little lighter than the usual taco, The Goat's Blackened Salmon Tacos are worth a try.

They're made with blackened salmon, cabbage, avocado, cilantro and a smoked sweet pepper sauce, with candied jalapeño adding a little sweet heat.

Definitely not your standard taco.

🌮 BUBBAKOO'S — GENERAL TSO'S TACOS

161 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Mt. Juliet

What happens when Chinese takeout meets Taco Tuesday?

At Bubbakoo's, General Tso's chicken gets tucked into soft tacos with cilantro-lime rice, jalapeños, cilantro and lettuce.

It's basically two takeout favorites decided to become one.

🌮 MARGARITA HOUSE — HAWAIIAN TACOS

151 Adams Ln., Ste. 5, Mt. Juliet

Pineapple on tacos? We're listening.

Margarita House's Hawaiian Tacos combine grilled pineapple, cilantro, onion, cheese and tomatillo hot sauce in corn tortillas.

It's a pretty fun combination of sweet, savory and spicy.

🌮 MEMO'S — COCHINITA PIBIL TACOS

1319 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Mt. Juliet

If you want to try something a little more traditional — but still different from the typical taco — check out the Cochinita Pibil Tacos at Memo's.

Cochinita pibil is a specialty from Mexico's Yucatán region, traditionally made with pork marinated in achiote and slow-cooked until tender.

It's a chance to try a taco with some serious regional Mexican roots.

🌮 EL COMAL — TACOS GOBERNADOR

11177 Lebanon Rd., Mt. Juliet

Shrimp tacos get a serious upgrade at El Comal.

Their Tacos Gobernador feature shrimp cooked with poblano peppers, onions, tomato and cilantro, along with cheese and chipotle sauce.

They're a little smoky, a little spicy and definitely not your everyday taco.

So this National Taco Day, you could absolutely stick with your usual order.

Or you could try something you've never had before.

Because apparently, Mt. Juliet has a lot more taco creativity going on than you might think. 🌮

One Last Movie Under the Stars: Hook Comes to Charlie Daniels Park

It’s the final Movies in the Park of the summer, and Mt. Juliet Parks & Recreation is ending the season with a throwback favorite: Hook!

Bring the family to the amphitheater at Charlie Daniels Park this Friday, October 2, for a free movie night under the stars. The movie begins at dusk, around 6:55 p.m., but it’s always a good idea to show up before sunset to get settled and find a good spot.

Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs — and don't forget the bug spray! Concessions will also be available for purchase if you need some popcorn or a drink to go with the movie.

It’s a pretty perfect way to wrap up the summer movie series, so grab the kids, invite some friends and enjoy one last movie night under the stars. ✨🍿
